September 11 attacks

On 11th of September in 2001 Islamic terrorist group: al-Qaeda caused a lot of Damage in the United States by flying two suicide flight planes into the World Trade Center buildings and one into the Pegasus building in Washington. In total, 2996 people died in those attacks. The attacks were planned by Osama Bin Laden. Osama and Al-Qaeda told that the Motives for those attacks were sanctions against Iraq and U.S support of Israel. Osama was located and killed by U.S forces in 2011 as one of the most dangerous terrorists. Nowadays, at the same place where those buildings were, there are 3 new buildings and one of them is the biggest building in the united states.

Entertainment - Conan o'brien

Conan O'Brien is an American TV show host, comedian and voice actor. He is best known from his talk show career. Conan O'Brien started his TV host career in the show: Late Night with Conan O'Brien. The show ran from 1993 to 2009. After that he moved to the show on NBC called: The Tonight Show, but he left the show year later. From the year 2010, Conan has been hosting his own TV show "Conan" on TBS. Conan is known mostly from his TV host career, but he has also done many other things on TV. For example he worked as a writer and producer for the cartoon show "The Simpsons". from 1991 to 1993.

Geography - Natural disasters

The united states are affected by a variety of natural disasters yearly. Tornadoes are more common in the United states than in any other country. They are mostly attacking in the southwest. Most affected states are Texas, Kansas, Tennessee and Nebraska. In those cities many houses have tornado shelters and the cities might have a tornado siren.

   Hurricanes are another natural disaster that is affecting the united states. Hurricanes are attacking most in the southeast. The most devastating Hurricanes are Galveston Hurricane in 1900 Hurricane Andrew in 1992, and Hurricane Katrina in 2005

   Hurricanes and tornadoes aren't the only natural disasters in United states. There are also for example tsunamis, mudslides and forest fires, but they are more rare.

Germany is really nice country. I've been there multiple times, but still i could come there anytime.

Hello! My name is Vertti and I'm writing from my home country, Finland. It's 23th of December and Christmas eve is really close. I dont have so much to wish for present, but i think all the best presents come as a surprise. What's the weather like in there? Here it is really cold and there is lot of snow. The snow came much earlier than in last year.




To Denmark




Hey there! My name is Vertti and i'm sending this postcard for you from Helsinki, Finland. The date is 5th of march and winter is pretty close to end. Weather is getting warmer and snow is almost gone. How is it Denmark? Is there still snowy? Denmark is a beatiful and intersting country. Those sand dunes are really nice and Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark is so cool and there is always something new to explore. I've been there once and i'm definetly coming there again

My summer

My summer was pretty good. I think it was better than the last one. At the beginning of the summer the weather was pretty bad and there wasn't many warm days. After all the weather turned out better and there was actually really warm days later the summer. In the start of the summer i didn't do so much things and most of the days i was at home, but when weathers got better i went outside almost everyday. We also travelled to Berlin with my family. Berlin is a nice and interesting city. There can always be found new things. In late summer i swam many times. I swam in sea and river but never in a swimming pool. In the last week of the holiday i decided with my friends that we do as much things we can. For example we made a trip to Suomenlinna, went bowling and slept in a boat. And of course we swam and rode bikes many times. Hopefully the next summer will be as funny as this!

 

 

South Africa

 

 

Hi! I´m writing about South Africa because its interesting and really different country than Finland. The weather is so much warmer and the winter is not snowy at all. I haven´t been there, but i don´t actually even want to go there now, but maybe sometime in the future. About the nature i know that there are lot of deserts but there are some forest too. One thing i would like to see in South Africa are the animals like lions, elephants, rhinos and giraffes. I would also like to eat African food. It must be very good.


Nelson Mandela was a South African politician and philantrophist who served as a President of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. Nelson was South Africa's first black thief executive.

 

      

 



 



Shopping

Its Saturday. Me and my friend are shopping in shopping centre in Helsinki



Me: -I'm going to buy a new hoodie.


Friend: -From where are you going to buy it?


Me: -I don't know yet. I will look from various stores. Are you going to buy something?


Friend: -I don't think so. I just bought some new clothes last week, but if i find something really nice, i will maybe buy it.


Me: -Okay lets go check some stores. Where you want to go first?


Friend: - Lets go to that new clothing store called H&M, I heard there are some special offers.


In the store


Me: - This hoodie looks so nice, but i think its too expensive.


Friend: - How much it is?


Me: - 50euros and i have only 40euros.


Friend: - Well i can lend some money for you.


Me: -That's so nice! Thank you. I will pay it back later.


Friend: -That's nothing. Hope you like the hoodie!

School and clothes

In India the men's uniforms are often made of a light-colored shirt, long pants usually blue, white or black, and those of the girls are often a shirt and a skirt.

 I couldn't find a better picture.

If i would wear a school uniform, it would be made of a t-shirt and jeans. So it would be really simple. I wouldn't wear a tie.

In Finland, pupils don´t have to wear school uniforms and they can wear anything they want. Usually boys have like jeans and some hoodie or sweater. Girls have usually jeans and some sweater too.

My hobbies

 

 

 

I dont have many hobbies, but i like skateboarding a lot. I have done skateboarding for like three years. Skateboarding is very fun hobby, because you don´t have any training times and you can do it anywhere you want. Nowadays there are lot of skateparks in Helsinki and there are coming new parks all the time. I like to skate in parks, but i like more skating in streets. There is one problem in Finland what makes skateboarding harder and that´s Winter, but luckily there are some indoor skateparks where you can skate in winter.
